Coil Cleaning

Sometimes your air conditioning units require some coil cleaning every few years. Its maintenance is essential, because the evaporator coil acts as a cold radiator, and is usually located in the ceiling space.

This is where the hot air is cooled, releasing a lot of condensation, meaning that fine particles stick to the moist coils. Over time the debris can build up and start to affect the coiling of the AC.

An AC cleaning is in order, here’s how we do it

Protect the surrounding area with a polythene sheet

Carefully open the ceiling with care and gently remove the filter

Detach the drain connection and remove the drain tray

Remove the fan and blower motor

Spray the coil with our special cleaning agent and let it settle for 10min

While the cleaning agent settles, our technicians clean the detached components

Use a coil jet to pressure wash dirt and dust out of the unit

Install the air conditioner’s drain tray, filter and motor blower back in

Flush the drain line for 2 to 3 minutes with nitrogen gas to clear any blockage

Perform a functionality test of the AC unit

What happens if the coil isn’t cleaned?

Cooling decreases

Sometimes, the air fails to get through due to a blockage caused by debris, hindering the cooling system from working properly. The importance of AC cleaning in Dubai, lies on not allowing the dirt or any other harmful elements to build up inside your unit.

Bad odor

The dust and debris accumulation tends to morph into a jelly like substance that emanates a damp odor that permeates your home when the system is turned on.

Stress on mechanical parts

The refrigerant component may be compromised if the coil is blocked by the accumulated debris and dust inside the system, leading to high pressure and damages to other components within the air conditioner. Our technicians deliver a thorough AC maintenance service to prevent such damages. Don’t forget to give us a call.

Decreased efficiency

When the evaporator coil fails to work properly, the rest of the mechanical components are strained, enhancing the damages your unit may suffer and increasing the AC repair cost.

Frequently asked questions

For optimum performance, it is recommended to get your AC units serviced every three to four months, especially for villas. For apartments, it depends on the type of AC system. Typically, twice a year is advised. Servicing of the AC is not only important to maintain air quality but to also ensure your AC units are not overworked, resulting in wastage of power.
The first question to ask is, when was the AC serviced last? The issue could be due to clogged air filters, gas leaks, or a faulty part. Getting your AC serviced periodically can ensure they run in optimal conditions and sudden breakdowns can be avoided.
As summer kicks in, we definitely tend to run the AC more so an increase in your DEWA bill is expected. The first thing is to assess your DEWA bill to determine if the increase is in the electricity consumption or the water consumption. If there is a massive increase in the electricity consumption that doesn’t justify the increased use of the AC and if you have not periodically serviced your units, then definitely your AC is probably the cause.
Multiple parts of your AC, including the filters, coils, and fins, require routine maintenance for it to function effectively and efficiently. Missing out on regular maintenance puts a toll on the performance of your AC. This results in your unit using more energy than necessary and unfiltered air circulating in your home.
Modern AC units can last between 10 to 15 years. The longevity and efficiency of your AC depend on a number of factors, one of which is whether you properly maintained the unit throughout its lifetime.
Unless there is physical damage, the filters just need to be cleaned periodically, along with other components of the unit.
